Frankly My Dear, No Me Importa Ni Un Car@jo!

In trying to figure out the answer to the question,
"What are the favorite movies of all time?"
the Harris Poll find this answer:
In at #1 is the classic Civil War epic, Gone With the Wind.
#2 is Star Wars and #3 is Casablanca.

Different groups all have their favorite movies.
Gender differences:
Men's fave: Star Wars followed by Gone With the Wind
Women's fave: Gone With the Wind followed by
The Sound of Music.
Race and ethnicity  differences
Whites: Gone With the Wind
Blacks: Casablanca
Hispanics: Gone with the Wind and The Notebook

What is the favorite book of all time?

Across all groups the #1 book is The Bible
#2: Gone with the Wind
#3 is Lord of the Rings series
#4 Harry Potter books
#5 Stephen King’ and The Stand

There is a large difference in the #2 favorite book.
Men: Lord of the Rings  Women: Gone with the Wind
Whites and Hispanics: Gone with the Wind
African Americans: Angels and Demons

A poll performed by the Associated Press in August 2007
reported that one-quarter of all Americans have not read a book in
the past year.

"The picture on the TV changes every five or six seconds, either by
changing the camera angle or cutting to an entirely new scene,"
writes Moody. "One researcher refers to these events as jolts per
minute, noting that as time is cut up, the brain is conditioned to
change at the expense of continuity of thought.

switched off.  All TV transmission will be produced digitally.
Without some type of converter box non-digital TV will be useless.

Pulitzer Prize Winners

Junot Diaz' Pulitzer Prize in Literature

Junot Díaz, a native of the Dominican Republic
won the Pulitzer  prize for fiction for his novel
"The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao."

The only U.S. Latino writer to ever receive
the Pulitzer Prize in literature was Oscar Hijuelos,
“The Mambo Kings Play Songs of Love"

Diaz' novel is about Oscar, an obese comics fan
in N.J. and his dysfunctional Dominican family.

The next Pulitzer Prize goes to a cartoon artist...


Michael Ramirez' Pulitzer Prize
in Editorial Cartoon

Michael Ramirez, of Latino and Japanese descent,
of Investor's Business Daily
has won the Pulitzer Prize in editorial cartooning.

The Pulitzers are journalism's highest honor,
and Pulitzer judges cited Ramirez's work for humor
and "detailed artistry," provocative and original.

The conservative cartoonist also won a Pulitzer
in 1994, when he worked for the Los Angeles Times
