| Ricky Martin Testifies at Congressional Hearing International recording artist Ricky Martin takes the mic again but this time to testify and advocate for children as a goodwill ambassador for UNICEF. He told a U.S. congressional hearing on human trafficking that, “Child trafficking is a global nightmare,” and referred to it as a "modern day form of slavery.” Since 2002 when he saw three young girls trembling beneath plastic bags on a street corner in Calcutta he has been advocating to end child trafficking. |

The popular CBS reality show Survivor thought it would be "interesting" to divide the teams by race. The show received quite a backlash from viewers and sponsors alike. General Motors pulled advertising and states that although it has sponsored the show for 6 years it isn't going to now and the race controversy has "nothing to do with it". The show decided to "desegregate" the show after the 2nd episode stating that it had planned on doing so all along after the 2nd show and that the race controversy had nothing to do with it |

| President of Bolivia Evo Morales Aima Meets Indigenous Leaders at the United Nations The meeting concerned issues shared by Native peoples of the Western Hemisphere such as lands, resources, Indigenous processes in government, etc. Pres.
