10 Steps
to Reading
Success

(and some don't even involve
reading!)
Make sure your child gets enough sleep. At night and during the day. A
child needs 10 hours of sleep- not a measly 7. With enough sleep your
child will be more alert, refreshed and ready to conquer even the
encyclopedia! Do they even use those anymore? Anyway, get enough sleep
or your brain will dry up- everybody knows that!

Who said that?- you say?

Miguel de Cervantes
From reading too much, and sleeping too little, his brain dried up on him
and he lost his judgment.
The best way to get a child to do something is to do it yourself. You
thought your reading days were over! No! How do you get your child to eat
his veggies! You eat ?em yourself! ?Mmm, mmm, mmm! ?Qu頢ueno! And
soon he wants some too! Same with reading. Start reading and your child
will be reading faster than you can say- THE END!

Who said that this will really work? -you say?

S鮥ca
Largo es el camino de la ensea por medio de teor
breve y eficaz por medio de ejemplos.
I tried not to put this one as the first because you may not want to
continue reading. But who can argue with the fact that TV robs you of your
time and rots your brain. Just turn it off. I know it?s difficult not only for
you but for your child throwing a tantrum but if you have a young child try
this: when she is not looking- unplug it! And when she wants to see TV
practice your best acting skills- novela style and say ?AY! ?Qu頬e pasla
televisi/I>

But don?t take just my word for it! Here is what Groucho Marx says about
the quality of TV:

Groucho Marx
I find television very educating. Every time somebody turns on the set, I go
into the other room and read a book.
